Old Boy’s Association

Founded in 1939, the La Salle College Old Boys' Association (LSCOBA or OBA) has been linking Old Boys of different generations, and fostering and promoting closer union and confraternity among its members. Further, the Association encourages Old Boys to contribute back to their alma mater, supporting the College and current students in various ways.

The Committee runs a number of subcommittees to organise various activities for the OBA, for example, the Sports Subcommittee, the Student Affairs Subcommittee, the Recreation Subcommittee, the Young Members Subcommittee, etc. In a typical year, the OBA organises programmes and events such as:

For LSC and her current students

  • Careers Programmes, offering talks conducted by Old Boys on various professions to give students an idea of the nature and requirements of different careers.
  • Interview Workshops for senior students preparing for university entrance interviews.
  • Job shadowing programmes, where the OBA pairs Old Boy mentors with students, who can then experience the real working environment by “shadowing” their mentors as they go through a normal work day.
  • Sponsorship and donations to various student activities, eg. sponsoring prizes to outstanding students presented during the school’s Speech Day; donations to the Editorial Board for The Lasallite and Sports Teams, student functions like Graduation Dinner and Student Association activities like Talent Quest and summer activities.
  • Taking part in LSC Newcomers’ Day for F.1 students, as well as Open Days in La Salle College and La Salle Primary School.
  • Old Boys from overseas Chapters of the OBA offering support to students through talks and in-country support. There are over six chapters in main cities in the USA and Canada, always ready to offer support to students and Old Boys alike.

For Old Boys

  • Spring Dinner and Annual LSCOBA Fundraising Ball.
  • Professional networking dinners, talks and visits to various organisations and facilities.
  • Happy hour and other casual gatherings.
  • Old Boys sporting events like organised soccer and basketball leagues and golf tournaments.

In addition to the above regular events, the OBA also maintains a vibrant website (www.lscoba.com), publishes a regular newsletter, and produces many souvenirs for Old Boys to purchase. The Association also launched an LSCOBA Visa Credit Card in 2004, and the OBA receives a cash rebate from the card issuing bank, which is wholly donated to LSC and student activities.

The LSCOBA's Annual General Meeting is held in July each year, where a new committee is elected. The committee members for the year 2024-2025 are as follows:
