On 8th January, 2025, teachers gathered in the school hall for an innovative workshop aimed at enhancing their knowledge and skills in applying Generative AI tools to improve learning and teaching effectiveness.
The workshop provided valuable insights into various tools available on the Poe platform, including Playground V3 and GPT-4o Mini, which foster creativity in writing. These tools facilitate interactive teaching and learning, allowing students to engage with complex concepts through real-time problem-solving and collaborative writing exercises.
We also explored Open AI o1, which enhances mathematical reasoning, and teachers can bring in multimedia resources for dynamic presentations and lessons that fit different learning styles. Magic School was also highlighted as another great Generative AI platform to help us teach better at La Salle College.
Teachers found these tools helpful for crafting lessons that encourage critical thinking and teamwork. The ability to give personalised feedback helps us support our students’ unique learning paths with care and respect.
At La Salle College, we are committed to continuous improvement in education. We aim to innovate not only for our educators but also for our students’ futures. Together, we look forward to creating a more dynamic and enriching learning environment!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Monica Leung, founder of Blueinno Technology for her inspiring contributions on Generative AI. A special thank you to Mr. Peter Koo (Class 82) and Mr. Fred Hung for supporting this invaluable professional development session.
