The Guidance Team invited social workers from the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups to conduct a workshop for our Form 2 students, titled “Beyond Different”.
This workshop aimed to enhance students’ empathy by exploring individual differences and varying needs among their peers. It sought to foster respect for personal uniqueness and promote harmonious coexistence.
Through videos and interactive mini-games, students gained firsthand experience of the challenges and limitations faced by others. Activities such as writing with their non-dominant hand helped them better understand the struggles some individuals encounter.
The session concluded with discussions on the impact of friendly teasing and the importance of being mindful of others’ feelings. Overall, the workshop encouraged students to recognize and respect the needs of others, fostering a more compassionate and inclusive community.
