The Service Learning Department was modelled after St. John Baptist de La Salle, as he put great emphasis on service and community. We link academic content with community service, fostering a sense of social responsibility among our students. By linking what they learn in the classroom to the needs of the community, students gain a deeper understanding of diverse societal needs. Moreover, students are encouraged to reflect on their experiences and critically evaluate their own growth and development.

 

The Department endeavours to equip students with an understanding of the diverse needs present in society. By fostering empathy and awareness, students can better comprehend the challenges faced by different individuals and communities. Secondly, we aim to cultivate a strong sense of social responsibility within our students. This practical application enhances their learning experience.

 

There are a range of programmes that have been organised for the students such as focusing on the homeless, animal rights, and building an inclusive world. Through these programmes, we strive to develop well-rounded individuals who not only excel academically but also possess a strong sense of social responsibility and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community.
