Speech is not merely about speaking words – it is about weaving those words into something magical and powerful. A simple speech can captivate and influence, and words have the energy and power to help, to heal, to hinder, to hurt, to harm, to humiliate and to humble.

 

As a platform that celebrates the power of language and showcases the diverse talents and perspectives of our student body, our Speech Team is a vibrant group of passionate Lasallians driven by our desire to excel. Every year, we participate in the Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival, which is a precious opportunity for us to develop our creativity, self-confidence, and presentation skills. With the professional training provided by our teacher advisors and the effort of dedicated team members, we reap our harvest and win a myriad of awards in the interschool competition annually.

 

Our team offers a diverse range of events. Not only do our members take part in Cantonese, English and Putonghua speech competitions, but we also contend for prizes in the Hong Kong French Speech Competition, and organise courses such as speaking skills workshops as an OLE programme for all Lasallians.
