Congratulations to Xie Yichen, Eason (4G), who secured 1st place in the prestigious MIT iQuHACK 2025, an annual quantum computing hackathon hosted by MIT and recognised as one of the world’s top quantum computing competitions, attracting outstanding students and postgraduates from around the globe. During this competition, Eason presented his innovative quantum algorithm for Gaussian state preparation. His novel method integrates Fourier-domain spectral shaping with complex polynomial expansions in entangled qubit subspaces, utilising phase modulations and a stochastic gradient-based calibration routine. This approach allows for scalable, high-precision Gaussian state generation, earning him high recognition from the judges.
Eason’s remarkable achievement serves as an inspiration for all students to pursue their passions and engage in STEAM investigations, pushing the boundaries of innovation and discovery.
